I recently got a new job at a clothing store! BINGO! Mission:Wardrobe is going to be in full effect soon considering my employee discount will range across three stores, one being my favorite! Yay! I currently don't exactly have the funds to go all "what not to wear" on my wardrobe, so if you read my first post, you know that this will be a slow process, but I will be chronicling it! Today's impulse necessity was on sale (I don't shop any other way) for a comfortable $40 for a good pair of pants I know I will wear like every other day.
Behold: The City Pant from White House Black Market! Originally $78, on sale in-store for $39.99 + my 5% discount for always spending too much money, and I was out of there for $41 and change. I love me some discounts! So I felt bad about buying the pants and when I came home, I immediately put them in the closet and got rid of that WHBM bag of evidence so my sweet husband wouldn't suspect. My plan was to casually wear them (tomorrow) and when he asks "oh those are cute, are they new?" I would do what any shopaholic would do and say, "Umm, no, not really, I got them a while back." LIES! My plan foiled. As soon as he walked his happy self through the door, my conscience got the better of me and I blurted out, "I BOUGHT PANTS!" He was a little stunned and gave me a "wha?" look. I began to explain my whole plan and guilty feeling. He just laughed and told me I made them look good, so it was worth it. Whew! My pants and I are safe! Did I mention I love my Husband?

Mission: Wardrobe
As a married woman in her mid-twenties, life has taken a new turn. Don't you think my wardrobe should reflect this? I'm no longer a college student living in jeans and a sweatshirt...or at least I shouldn't be living in jeans and a sweatshirt anymore at this stage in my life. My fashionable friend agrees with me, so we have begun Mission: Wardrobe. The idea is to slowly build our new sophisticated wardrobe on our limited budgets. With each item I purchase, I get rid of an item that does nothing for me. This is where I have begun my journey.
I have started at J. Crew. Two items (on sale!) for a total of $34.00! not bad to start! Had I paid full price I would have paid close to $150 after tax. The tank is so super soft and I love it and the fun purple skirt was originally in store $110.00 and I walked out of there with my new skirt for $25.90! Oh, the beauty of sale items being an additional 40% off! If I can continue down this heavenly path, I will be a happy shopper.
Note*: I tossed out two old camisoles to make room for the new kids in the closet!
