Mission: Wardrobe - Life in Vintage Cotton

I might have a problem.  Is it possible to love an article of clothing too much? I now have three Vintage Cotton Tanks from J.Crew.  They are the softest ever and are so comfy! They are my favorite top to tuck into pants and skirts.  Not only are they my favorite ever, each of these babies were only $6! SOLD!

I know I said that my wardrobe transformation was expected to be a slow process, but working in retail has sped up this process just a little.  I'm finding deal after deal and the only way I could be more satisfied is if I had more to spend.  Until then, I think this is coming along quite nicely!

Now, I need to start getting rid of some items I have been holding onto for no reason. I know I have pieces I haven't worn in years.  These things really should be the first to go. Still working on it.

MIssion: Wardrobe - The Cheetah Crop

The update continues with a few select items from Chico's and Kohl's.  The watch was a bargain for $6, but we will see how long the battery lasts. Hopefully longer than six bucks worth.  Keeping my fingers crossed on that one!  Next up, I have been pinning printed pants on Pinterest lately and found these Cheetah Crop Pants on the redline rack at Chico's. Naturally, I just had to try them on and meow! They fit like a cheetah glove making me purr with happiness. Sorry, I'll stop with the cat puns.  I snatched them up for a pleasant $29. I think they will make a sophisticated, yet wild addition to my wardrobe. I also put this dress on hold over at Chico's to be purchased after payday!

Things I bought, but did not list above that I have added include a navy sweater on clearance from Target (it's cold at work, so it's a justifiable purchase) and some bangles on clearance from Kohl's.  Do we see a pattern yet in my buying style?  I rarely buy anything at full price. It keeps me out of trouble with the King ;-)

Happy Shopping!

PS.  What great deals have you found lately that you absolutely love?

Mission: Wardrobe - The City Pant

I recently got a new job at a clothing store! BINGO! Mission:Wardrobe is going to be in full effect soon considering my employee discount will range across three stores, one being my favorite! Yay! I currently don't exactly have the funds to go all "what not to wear" on my wardrobe, so if you read my first post, you know that this will be a slow process, but I will be chronicling it! Today's impulse necessity was on sale (I don't shop any other way) for a comfortable $40 for a good pair of pants I know I will wear like every other day.
Behold: The City Pant from White House Black Market! Originally $78, on sale in-store for $39.99 + my 5% discount for always spending too much money, and I was out of there for $41 and change.  I love me some discounts! So I felt bad about buying the pants and when I came home, I immediately put them in the closet and got rid of that WHBM bag of evidence so my sweet husband wouldn't suspect. My plan was to casually wear them (tomorrow) and when he asks "oh those are cute, are they new?" I would do what any shopaholic would do and say, "Umm, no, not really, I got them a while back." LIES!  My plan foiled. As soon as he walked his happy self through the door, my conscience got the better of me and I blurted out, "I BOUGHT PANTS!" He was a little stunned and gave me a "wha?" look. I began to explain my whole plan and guilty feeling. He just laughed and told me I made them look good, so it was worth it. Whew! My pants and I are safe! Did I mention I love my Husband?

Mission: Wardrobe

As a married woman in her mid-twenties, life has taken a new turn.  Don't you think my wardrobe should reflect this?  I'm no longer a college student living in jeans and a sweatshirt...or at least I shouldn't be living in jeans and a sweatshirt anymore at this stage in my life.  My fashionable friend agrees with me, so we have begun Mission: Wardrobe.  The idea is to slowly build our new sophisticated wardrobe on our limited budgets.  With each item I purchase, I get rid of an item that does nothing for me.  This is where I have begun my journey.

I have started at J. Crew.  Two items (on sale!) for a total of $34.00! not bad to start! Had I paid full price I would have paid close to $150 after tax.  The tank is so super soft and I love it and the fun purple skirt was originally in store $110.00 and I walked out of there with my new skirt for $25.90! Oh, the beauty of sale items being an additional 40% off! If I can continue down this heavenly path, I will be a happy shopper.

Note*: I tossed out two old camisoles to make room for the new kids in the closet!

Running Inspiration: Day 1

I have learned that in order for something to become a habit, you must practice it for at least 21-28 days.  I must make exercise part of my daily routine in order to remain healthy in body and mind.   For this month, I will be posting an inspiration of the day to help keep me going.  Perhaps it will motivate some of you too?  Have a wonderful Friday!

Let's do this thing.

Peace.

This has really hit a chord with me lately.  I thought it deserved to be shared.  May you all find peace today and for the new year!
