As a married woman in her mid-twenties, life has taken a new turn. Don't you think my wardrobe should reflect this? I'm no longer a college student living in jeans and a sweatshirt...or at least I shouldn't be living in jeans and a sweatshirt anymore at this stage in my life. My fashionable friend agrees with me, so we have begun Mission: Wardrobe. The idea is to slowly build our new sophisticated wardrobe on our limited budgets. With each item I purchase, I get rid of an item that does nothing for me. This is where I have begun my journey.
I have started at J. Crew. Two items (on sale!) for a total of $34.00! not bad to start! Had I paid full price I would have paid close to $150 after tax. The tank is so super soft and I love it and the fun purple skirt was originally in store $110.00 and I walked out of there with my new skirt for $25.90! Oh, the beauty of sale items being an additional 40% off! If I can continue down this heavenly path, I will be a happy shopper.
Note*: I tossed out two old camisoles to make room for the new kids in the closet!
I have been trying to do the same thing over the past couple years. It's really fun to change everything up, plus it makes you feel so much more sophisticated. I love J Crew. Banana Republic is also a favorite. if you can find a Banana Republic Factory/Outlet store you will be amazed. That's where I get most of my clothes now. They have super duper sales on top of the outlet prices:)
ReplyDeleteSarah, thats awesome! I do need to make a trip out to Gilroy to do some shopping on of these days, but for now, im relying on my girlfriend who works at J.Crew to fill me in on when the good sales are happening LOL! She doesn't know it yet (unless she reads this comment as she is one of my 4 followers), but I have deemed her my personal shopper. Haha! I almost dont trust myself to shop alone anymore...its too tempting to purchase tank tops and shorts! I need someone to tell me no.
DeleteI love this! You are definitely off to a great start! Looking forward to following your Mission Wardrobe journey! ;)
ReplyDeleteInspired by you, Bri! <3
